Thomas Salmen
Chief Technology Officer
Orcon Internet Limited

Thomas was appointed Chief Technology Officer of Orcon in June 2007 and under his direction Orcon developed New Zealand’s first mass-market consumer IP voice service – The Orcon Genius. Thomas is responsible for the leadership and management of approximately 80 staff throughout the business.

His day-to-day responsibilities include technical advisory of regulatory and commercial matters, commercial management of key vendors and suppliers, development of the company technology strategy and technology leadership for Orcon.

Prior to being appointed Chief Technology Officer, Thomas held the position of Networks Operations Manager at Orcon for three years.

Thomas has a Bachelor of Computer Science and Electronics Engineering from Massey University and is currently studying towards his Diploma in Business Administration.

David Morrison

David Morrison is a Senior Project Manager with Provoke Solutions. With a varied background in project delivery, project consulting and business management roles David understands well both the client and vendor worlds in relation to delivering successful projects. Provoke was recently awarded 2011 Microsoft Partner of the Year.

Steve Martin
Creative Director
Terabyte

Being part of the online industry since it was in nappies, Steve has received local and international accolades for his engaging and unique approach, strategy, design and ideas. His wide range of experience has included working as Art Director for Condé Nast Publications in the United Kingdom and now embarks on his tenth year as Creative Director at Terabyte.

Steve’s portfolio features the online sites of British Vogue, GQ, Glamour, Chanel, Givenchy, Fonterra, Tourism New Zealand, New Zealand Trade & Enterprise, the Sir Peter Blake Trust, Nickelodeon and Starship Hospital to name a few.

Being responsible for Terabyte’s Creative Direction not only sees Steve managing and nurturing the studio talent, but also feeds his passion for learning about our clients’ businesses whilst still being able to get out his coloured pencils.

Steve is highly involved with a number of educational institutes helping in the development of online studies and is a Fellow of The Designers Institute of New Zealand.

Allan Yeoman
Senior Associate

Allan is a member of our corporate and commercial team and specialises in providing commercial and contracting advice for technology-related transactions and the media and advertising sectors.

He has extensive experience in drafting and negotiating IT and business process outsourcing agreements, and in assisting clients with their technology procurement, development, licensing and distribution requirements.

Allan has advised several leading ad and media agencies and brand-owners on their commercial arrangements, advertising campaigns and brand management, and has been seconded to a leading international media and creative agency.

He also regularly advises clients on privacy and data protection compliance.

Allan recently joined Buddle Findlay, having spent six years working in international law firms in London, and previously with another major law firm in Auckland.

Grant Osborne

Grant Osborne is a passionate Interactive Marketing Professional who is results-driven and performance-focussed. Grant has over 5 years experience in interactive marketing management roles and has worked with and developed innovative interactive solutions for leading NZ, Australian and International companies driving increased results and driving revenue.

After his time in the UK as Online Marketing Manager of several Internet start-ups, Grant came home to NZ and began his career with First Rate as an Internet Marketing consultant, moving into the role of Consulting Manager. Most recently Grant invested his talents in the hospitality industry as the Online Marketing Manager for Accor Hotels NZ & Fiji before returning to the Q Group in his current role as Director of Strategy & Performance.

Ben Young is a digital native, he started the bwagy blog in 2008, which is republished on the NZHerald and has been turned into a book ‘The Best Ideas are Free’. Ben has a decade of experience in the Internet Marketing field, starting as a hobby to managing global campaigns. From search engine optimisation, pay per click, to blogging and social media he’s seen it all, these days his focus is on strategy as Marketing Director at Young & Shand a digital marketing agency.

Craig is a Portfolio Manager for EMA Learning covering Legislation, Employment Law and Health and Safety Programmes. Craig is contracted as the EMA representative Business Assessor for the NZTE Business Capability Development Voucher Scheme. His career has spanned a wide range of industries, including engineering, advertising, sales and marketing through to information, communications and technology. His involvement with start-ups and business development initiatives includes the formation of a web development studio in 1997 and later specialising in web project and site management.

Craig presents workshops and is a sort after speaker on the topic of Social Media and Online Communications strategy. Craig has been CEO of not for profit organisations inclusive of the Chamber of Commerce and held board positions with organisations focused on business development.
